  1. Routine x-rays, examinations and cleanings are actually not routine at all! Regular visits to see “how you are doing” with your home care and monitoring your teeth, gums and jaw joints for changes allows Dr. Cates or Dr. Khan to detect problems early and avoid more extensive treatment.

  1. Dental decay is an active process that often only an x-ray can reveal in the early stages. Gum Disease, or Periodontal Disease, can be diagnosed using gum measurements and x-rays.

     • Bacteria that cause tooth cavities and gum disease is progressive in nature, and will continue to destroy vital tooth, gum tissue and even bone if not stopped. Once diagnosed, Dr. Cates or Dr. Khan will recommend treatment to eliminate harmful bacteria and restore your smile to proper health.

  1. While some cosmetic treatments, such as teeth whitening and porcelain veneers, are usually elective procedures, materials available today make it possible to achieve cosmetic improvements with traditional crowns and fillings.

     Dental implants can replace the function of lost teeth. Our dentists collaborate with local dental specialists who place the implant, which Dr. Cates or Dr. Khan then restores with a natural looking crown or bridge.

     If a complete or partial denture is the right answer for you, our dentists will work closely with our dental laboratory to ensure that you have an appliance that you are comfortable and pleased with.
